4 Scenarios where Virtual Assistants make sense for small business.

Updated: Mar 10, 2021

  1. You're an owner stuck doing the admin.

Whether a sole trader or small business owner, you as the owner still does the bulk of the administration. Invoicing may be left til the end of the week or month, which slows down cashflow, you may have piles of paperwork that you don’t even have time to look at, let alone process in an organised and structured way.

2. A Family business which us 'running you'.

You may be a family business, partners in life and work, maybe with young kids. Maybe you both try your hand at some admin and Xero work, a lot of it being those repetitive tasks. But perhaps you both feel like the business is running your life, not the other way around, and personal time as a family is creeping out of your life more and more. Lets get out of this scenario as soon as possible!

3. You have an administration staff member employed... but they're swamped.

Maybe you're a decent sized business who already has a great admin officer on your team, but there are projects and business improvement projects you have had on your To Do list for months, maybe years, as the never-ending cycle of those day to day tasks that keep your business machine chugging take necessary priority. This was my personal experience, and through our virtual assistant we were able to take our on-site admin off these repetitive tasks, and place her on more valuable on site tasks such as warehouse management, allocation of stock to jobs, and vehicle tool management.

4. You simply want to save your business the high cost of local bookkeeping

Finally, maybe you outsource basic bookkeeping to your local accountant and need to save your business some money. Now I am a huge advocate for keeping your local accountant on board for high level tax and strategic business advice. But when my local accountant quoted me $80 an hour for basic bookkeeping assistance, not only did I prefer to knuckle down and do the work myself, but I had a strong suspicion that they too outsourced much of this work. We can cut out the middle man for you.
